Artist Biography:

Debra Terrio began the pursuit of her passion for art while attending Normandale College in Minnesota in 1995. 

Since moving to Florida in 2013, her creations have taken on a new energy and dimension. The people she has met and the friendships that have evolved have brought great joy and energy to her life, enriching her artistry. The rich environment, including the flora, landscape, and animals that she experiences while hiking and kayaking are her inspiration. She feels compelled to place her visual and emotional energies on canvas. 

An award-winning artist, Debra is a member of Palm City Art Association , Vero Beach Art Club, and Americans For The Arts. Her work has been displayed in homes in the United States, Canada, Israel, and Australia. She has exhibited at Normandale College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the following sites in Florida: St. Lucie County Administrative Building, Fort Pierce International Airport, 500 Orange Avenue in Fort Pierce, Art Collectors Gallery in Fort Pierce, Ohana Realty in Fort Pierce, Bridge Road Fine Arts in Hobe Sound, Parkland Library, Boca Raton Innovation Center, Artist’s Eye Gallery in Lake Worth, Sugar Sands Community Center in Boca Raton, Vero Beach Art Club Gallery, SeaCoast Bank in Vero Beach, Cool Beans in Fort Pierce,  Lighthouse Museum in Jupiter, and the Elliot Museum in Stuart. 

Giving back to the community is important to Debra, so she has donated numerous works of art to such organizations as Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County, Learn To Read of St. Lucie County, Animal Humane Society, Save The Chimps, Inner Truth Project, RUFS Foundation, Port St. Lucie Botanical Garden, Heathcote Botanical Garden, and Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society. 

She has been an art instructor at IRSC Fielden Institute For Lifelong Learning, St. Andrew Episcopal High School, Grace School of Art, Port St. Lucie Community Center, St. Lucie Cultural Alliance, Riverland Center for the Arts, and Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County. 

She has published articles in Art St. Lucie Magazine and was featured in an article in the Holiday 2021 issue of Indian River Magazine.
